Ring around the Rain Garden
A family show that includes music, songs, puppets and photography to teach about how "one little person" (or big person) can take care of the world. Our story features Ollie McNutt, a larger-than-life puppet character who plans to pave over his yard! He has a clown puppet friend named Rodney who happens to be very passionate about rain gardens. Rodney teaches him about the water cycle and how to help keep water in our yards by making a rain garden. It is a lively and instructive show that will make a difference!
Three artists working on this piece are:
Barb Tilsen is a singer, songwriter, teaching artist, and teacher trainer. Her music, her classes and her performances are hallmarked by her great sense of fun, her respect for young children and her unique way of musically touching their hearts.
Gayla Ellis is a photographer. Her slides of community events, children at play, flowers, nature, or cityscapes are combined with music, singing, poetry, or narrative to illustrate a story or evoke a visual experience for the audience.
Artist and puppeteer, Margo McCreary, builds puppet worlds that come to life in her hands. In this way she celebrates and adds to the continual movement that we are treated to day in and day out. She is known for her larger-than-life puppet character, Ollie McNutt who has come to life with Margo inside for the past 30 years.
